All the tracks here were recorded in March 1982 and apart from a few they remained unused and undeveloped. At this stage I was formulating what would eventually become my first album “From Distant Shores” which was released in 1983. Due to the age and nature of the recordings there are tape drop outs and the occasional glitch, etc.

Steve Hillman: Yamaha CS30L synth, Casiotone 301 keyboard, Soundmaster SR88 Drum Machine, flute and electric guitar.

This volume concludes the SONIC PORTALS series of albums of previously unreleased ideas, sketches and improvisations. In April 1982 Linda bought me my very first Portastudio, a 4 track Teac 144 so the archive release schedule will next proceed with THE TEAC 144 ARCHIVE: VOLUME ONE

This would be a great soundtrack to the Voyager 1 space probe as it travels past enormous planets and stars towards....where? Track begins with a low, bass hum that builds into a a beautiful choir of sound and ends up as classic 70s 80s electronic journey..so sad it's only 1 track, although over 20 minutes...if you like Berlin-School this is a must have!.
