Due to the primitive nature of the recordings they do have assorted tape drop outs, tape hiss, clicks and distortion. Also, the Minisonic synth can be hard on the ears at times due to it going wildly out of tune!

Be warned – all are very basic and primitive but some structure was beginning to creep into some of the areas I was exploring…..

All tracks recorded by Steve Hillman in 1978. All are first take improvisations.

Steve Hillman: Synda the Audio Generator, SW Radio, Minisonic Synth, Jumbo Gem Electronic Organ, descant recorder, flute, concert zither, cimbalom, voice, electric guitar and various effects pedals.

Track 06: Linda Hillman flute improvisations.

Track 07 flute and recorder improvisations by Steve and Linda recorded live in St Michael’s Tower on top of Glastonbury Tor in July 1978.

Track 09 was used by Greek musician Thaneco to form the basis of the track “Out On The Astral” from our 2019 album “Call Of The Ancients”.

Track 18 was my first ever lengthy sequencer based track although a sequencer was never used and everything was played by hand, something which I continued to do, as I never used a sequencer throughout the 80’s onwards.
